Within the I.T industry its very important to have frequent eye tests when using VDU’s (Visual Display Unit’s). Common issues with frequent computer use results in eye strain, short sighted vision and possible migraines in worse cases.
With modern technology opticians can provide numerous services to help with eye strain and other similar issues. Glasses can be tailored to suit your requirements for short and long sighted people.
What if Glasses are not an option?
Laser vision correction can be an option. Laser vision correction is used to treat astigmatism which is caused by an unevenly shaped eyeball. It is said that at least 50% of glasses wearers have this additional problem. Astigmatism causes the eye to only focus on parts of a given image resulting in distortion at all distances.
Laser eye correction can also be used to treat other problems such as long sighted (Hyperopia) and Presbyopia also known as short sighted.
Different laser vision correction treatment methods bellow:
Lasik
Lasik is used to correct a wide range of prescriptions. This treatment is normally suitable for correcting mild to serve short, mild and long sighted people. Lasik also helps the above issue (astigmatism).
Epi-Lasek
This method is used to correct mild to moderate short sighted people. Recovery time usually takes only a couple of days.
