Microsoft Vista aka Mojave

Tuesday, July 29th, 2008

I think I will be calling Vista Mojave from now on. Why i hear you say? Well Microsoft decided to do a little experiment of their own. To prove that Vista Ultimate is in fact the dogs b0ll0x 120 people took part in a test.

The 120 people who had low perception of Vista were given a new operating system called Mojave which was actually Vista Ultimate in disguise. The average user rated the operating system 4.4 out of 10 not 4.5! very specific. Out of the 120 people who rated the operating system the outcome was shocking, the group rated the OS 8.5 out of 10. Underneath Microsofts brainwashing the corporation were trying to make a point. Dont knock it until you try it!

The experiment was known days before Microsoft released their experiment public. You can visit the site ‘the mojave experiment’ by clicking the link.

HP blame for XP SP3 Crash?

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

With regards to my earlier post last week Windows XP SP3 crashes AMD Machines it has come to the community’s attention that HP are to blame for the problems. Last week Users of Windows XP and AMD machines resulted to operating system reboots and random crashes, Ironically similar affects to Windows Vista SP1.

The problem has been pin-pointed to HP, Hewlett Packard has been shipping AMD based machines running a tailored install of windows for Intel based machines. The pre-loaded OS comes with the intel power management drive ‘intelppm.sys’. This driver then tries to load after upgrading SP3 resulting in endless rebooting.

Apparently Microsoft knew about the problem since May 6th when the Service Pack came out May 7th. Microsoft then decided to create the support article, 888372. The link explains how to fix the problem see below.

Boot the Operating System within Safe Mode which will eliminate the intelppm.sys file loading. The registry must then be loaded to change the value of the System driver.

Summary! Dont buy Hewlett Packard AMD products? Well you decide! I will give one tip to the community though, try building the system yourself! ;).

Windows XP SP3 Crashes AMD machines

Friday, May 9th, 2008

The long awaited Service Pack 3 for Windows XP has proved to be a headache for most AMD PC users. One day after the release Users were complaining of system crashing. The problems have been published over Microsoft support websites.

One user reported

“After Installing SP3 and restarting XP would not load. Once the system had rebooted the system would freeze at the XP splash screen and then restart”

Angry users have reported that safe mode isnt even available for a backup means to booting up their systems. Jesper Johansson a former employee at Microsoft explained possible issues.

Affects AMD only related Hardware sold by Hewlett-Packard. HP deploys the same Intel based image on AMD machine causing conflicts. The two systems both have the intelppm.sys driver. The driver provides power management for Intel based systems. The AMD system should use the amdk8.sys driver, which is causing the problems.

You can fine numerous fixes on his blog website Jesper’s Blog
