Its Friday again, w00t! But what is there to talk about on the computer hardware front? Well nothing really! I’m still contemplating buying a new p.c. soon considering the 9800 GTX are coming down in price so dramatically. So what does the enthusiast do? Does He/She decide to buy now and pay later or wait now and pay and buy later?

I’ve just recently read an article stating that the graphical performance may double to 4 teraflops where the 4870 ATI Radion x2 can compute 2 teraflops. These are not expected until the q2 of 2009, Larrabee and Nehalem mainstream hardware is not expected until Q1 of 2009 either, there seems to be a trend here! I dont want to burst anyone’s bubble but this emerging pattern doesn’t look good. Does 2009 look like a good year to upgrade? It sure looks like it!

SO… where does this leave the existing Phenom and socket 755 processors? Will these sockets come down in price during the end of this year? Considering the high end Nehalem are expected a price plunge is on the horizon.

With this said, my scheduled upgrade at Christmas is going to have to wait unless… Cheap Quad core Duo all around then? I hope so. Have a good weekend all!
