Hp brings HD playback to mini 110 netbook

Hp US shop as recently been updated to offer Broadcom(R) Crystal HD video accelerator card to the mini 110. The option is available on customized version only so far. The add on will cost you $30. Add $30 more for the ‘HD’ screen 1366×768 and you get a pretty well equipped netbook.

We are not sure yet how the Broadcom card impact the battery but if you want a portable video player capable of 720p decoding then you might just go for it.
No word of bringing the option to Europe though and Hp is known for its US only deals so we may never see this over here. Oh well, someone else is going to do it at some poinanywayt . Dell?

Poulsbo netbooks + Ubuntu can already do that: http://linux-tipps.blogspot.com/2009/12/vaapi-accelerated-hd-video-on-msi-wind.html
Only problem so far is deinterlacing.
