We are all familiar with sending texts from our phones and many of us use our computers as telephones to speak to people in different countries using voice over IP (VOIP) services such as Skype. But how many of us are familiar with the process of sending text messages SMS from PCs? Most people have mobile telephones but if you are one of the few people that doesn’t have a phone then you might find this sevice usefu although you will need a computer and an internet connection another reason you might find it useful is that text messaging via the internet can save money when texting people abroad. You can also use text messaging from a PC to send the same text to a group of people.
These services are web based and involve creating an account. To use the service you need to type in the number of the person your are trying to contact. Type in your message into the window and press send. The message is sent across to a device which will send the message via the normal messaging service.
To receive messages, to you will be given an account number and you will need to log in any returned message will be stored in your account.
