Storage specialist Western Digital has officially released their caviar green 2TB hard Disk. the 3.5″ drive comes with 500Gb per platter with 32MB of Cache! The hard disk will use SATA2 3 GB/s Sata Interface. Western Digital claim that the hardisk uses 1w of power on stand-by, 4W when idle and 7.4W when reading/ writing.
I would be nice to see this hard disk in raptor form but I dont think this is realistic, will there ever be a solid state disk at this size? Only time can tell! If you want one of these high capasity disks then the hard disk is available at $299 say around £150 roughly!
