Maingear eX-L 18, “world’s most powerful gaming laptop”

It certainly won’t last very long but today Maingear unveiled what they say is the “most powerful gaming laptop” to date. The competition around gaming laptop as been going on for a while but this one certainly packs some strong hardware.
On the main feature list you’ll find a Core 2 Duo Extreme cpu, 2 Nvidia GeForce GTX 280M, up to 8Gb of DDR3 memory and very impressive 18.4 screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution.
The GeForce GTX 280M is what the company does best in terms of mobile graphic power so combine two in SLI and you should get a fair amount of flops.
Other than that its what you would expect for this kind of high end product: up to 3 hard drives / SSD, usd 2.0, firewire, 3 Mp webcam and full size keyboard and gaming buttons.
Of course all this comes with a price: $2,999 for the standard equipment.
